My Story
Growing up in a vibrant and supportive community, I began engaging in community-building initiatives during my teenage years. Since then, I have had the privilege of contributing to numerous organizations across North America, including the Muslim Youth Council, Manitoba Islamic Association, Muslim Youth of North America, Muslim Students Association, Islamic Society of North America, and Noor Islamic Center, among others. I currently serve on the Rihla Board and recently completed a three-year term as Education Director on the Board of the Muslim Community Center of San Diego. I have also served as an Executive Board member of the CAIR San Diego Board. In addition to my organizational leadership, I established an ongoing part-time Hifz program and co-founded Youth Intensive Classes at our local masjid. Over the years, I have collaborated with community members and fellow leaders to develop and implement several impactful initiatives throughout San Diego, including Reclaiming Our Faith and the Annual Community-Wide Family Conference.
My years of experience in community service and leadership have strengthened my commitment to helping communities and organizations reach their full potential. Throughout my work, I have repeatedly witnessed how unresolved conflict can hinder progress, weaken relationships, and prevent organizations from achieving their goals. Recognizing the need for effective conflict resolution strategies inspired me to pursue and complete a Master’s degree in Conflict Management and Resolution.
During my graduate studies, I focused on holistic approaches to conflict management, mediation, conflict analysis, and an in-depth examination of the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) approach to conflict resolution and negotiation. By combining my academic training with years of practical experience in community leadership, I strive to help individuals, organizations, and communities navigate challenges constructively, strengthen relationships, and build a foundation for sustainable growth.
I am passionate about facilitating the road to empowerment for our communities to overcome barriers, foster collaboration, and move forward with clarity and purpose. Through my experience, education, and commitment to service, I look forward to helping communities and organizations unlock their potential and achieve meaningful, lasting progress.
