Alia Harb is a trainer, mediator, facilitator, and conflict management coach with more than 12 years of experience helping individuals, teams, organizations, and communities navigate conflict with confidence and compassion. She is the owner of her own conflict resolution practice, where she provides mediation, coaching, facilitation, workplace restoration, and training services. Alia also serves as a court-appointed mediator for divorcing couples and has extensive experience supporting families, neighbours, non-profit organizations, boards, and workplaces in resolving complex disputes.
As a public servant, Alia develops and delivers conflict resolution and leadership training while advising HR professionals and organizational leaders on workplace restoration, conflict management, and psychologically safe workplaces. Her work combines practical conflict resolution strategies with restorative approaches that strengthen relationships, rebuild trust, and foster meaningful dialogue.
Throughout her career, Alia has served as a mediator in the Court Diversion Program and as the Lead Private Prosecution Court Mediator. She has facilitated mediations, coaching conversations, restorative circles, and workshops for diverse audiences, covering topics such as effective communication, conflict management, bystander intervention for respectful workplaces, building trust, giving effective feedback, and having courageous conversations.
Alia holds a Bachelor of Arts in Conflict Resolution Studies with a minor in Psychology. She has completed specialized training and certifications in mediation, victim-offender mediation, conflict management coaching, facilitation and workplace assessment.
At the heart of Alia’s work is a restorative justice philosophy rooted in the belief that conflict, when approached with curiosity and care, can become an opportunity for growth, understanding, and stronger relationships. She is passionate about empowering people to navigate the messy world of relationships with confidence, equipping them with the skills to have challenging conversations that lead to connection rather than division.
Beyond her professional work, Alia is a dedicated advocate for human rights and has volunteered extensively in youth programming, community initiatives, and sport. As an associate trainer, Alia facilitates engaging, practical learning experiences that equip participants with the confidence and skills to address conflict constructively, build trust, and create healthier, more respectful workplaces and communities.
